The story:

There was always something about the Paloma that unsettled Damian. Such an iconic drink, fresh, bright, and undeniably refreshing, yet somehow a little boring. Tequila, lime, and grapefruit soda. That was it.

He kept thinking about the Paloma’s place in the agave world. Tequila, soft and elegant, always plays second fiddle to mezcal, the smoky show-off who walks into the room and commands everyone’s attention, usually around 3 a.m. in shot form.

Then came The Reaper, a spirit created by friends, infused with exotic fruits and the world’s spiciest chili, the Carolina Reaper. The moment he tasted it, something clicked.

Wasn’t this exactly what the Paloma needed? A little heat, a little danger, a voice of her own? Who said she could only wear grapefruit? There are no boundaries anymore. Anyone can be who they want to be.

So we decided to empower the Paloma, to make her the star of the show. We dressed her in a vivid purple hue from butterfly pea flower kombucha, gave her fiery character from The Reaper, kept her roots in grapefruit liqueur, and let her shine as her fullest self.
